Reelr in two sentences

Reelr is a mobile app that saves the videos and links you share from YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitch or other platforms, and sorts them automatically using artificial intelligence. Reelr creates no account: your data is stored on your device.

No account, no sign-up

Reelr asks for no email, password, name or phone number. There is no login system: we do not collect or store on our servers any data that could identify you.

Data stored on your device

When you share a link to Reelr, the app saves the following in a database that exists only on your phone:

• the address (URL) of the shared link;
• the title, description, source channel or account and thumbnail, when public (retrieved from the content’s page via the oEmbed and Open Graph standards);
• the assigned category (automatic or chosen by you);
• the date added and the order of your custom categories.

This data stays on your device and is deleted if you uninstall the app. We have no access to it and cannot view, copy or restore it.

Automatic sorting with artificial intelligence

To sort a link you share, Reelr sends some public information about that content (title, description, any tags, source platform, link address, thumbnail, a short transcript excerpt when available and, for a web page, its summary text) to a third-party AI service, Claude, developed by Anthropic.

This information never travels directly between your phone and Anthropic: it goes through an intermediary server that we operate (a “Cloudflare Worker”), which protects our technical access keys and limits abuse. This server does not retain or log any of this data: it relays it and deletes it immediately.

The information sent never includes your name, email or any other personal identifier. Anthropic processes it to suggest a category, under its own privacy policy (anthropic.com/privacy).

If sorting fails (temporary outage, no connection), the link is kept under “To sort” and Reelr tries again later. Nothing is sent to any third party in the meantime.

Retrieving information from platforms

To display a content’s title, thumbnail and description, Reelr queries that content’s public page directly on its source platform, based on the link you chose to share. We have no access to any other information from your accounts on these platforms, and Reelr never logs in to a third-party account on your behalf.

Subscription and payment

Reelr is free for up to 50 saved links; beyond that, a Premium subscription gives unlimited use. Purchase and renewal are handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) through their built-in payment systems. We do not receive, process or store any payment information: it is managed exclusively by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies.

We may receive a technical confirmation of your subscription status (active or not) from Apple or Google to unlock the matching features; it is not tied to any identity on our side.

Technical data

Like any app, Reelr may produce diagnostic reports (such as crash reports) if you allow it in your device settings. They are anonymised as far as possible and used only to fix bugs.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure and portability. Since Reelr collects no named data on our servers, these rights mainly concern the data stored on your device, which you control directly:

• Deletion: uninstalling the app immediately and completely deletes the data Reelr saved on your device.
• Access and portability: your data is visible in the app at any time.

Children

Reelr is not specifically directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information about them.

Transfers outside the European Union

Information sent to Anthropic for sorting may be processed on servers outside the European Union, with contractual safeguards in line with the GDPR. No other personal data is transferred, since none is collected.

Changes

We may update this policy, in particular to reflect changes to the app. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
